Lavender Lab from Cloud B Review!

While visiting Cloud B, I came across the Lavender Lab. Lavender is naturally calming and the scent is often used as a sleep aid. Before having Brea I used to spray my pillow with lavender spray to help me sleep. As most of you know I co-sleep so lavender spray is not really an option at the moment. I think it may be a little strong for Brea. So when I saw the Lavender Lab I knew that this could be truly beneficial and when I came across the opportunity to do a review for Brea's Mommy I jumped on it!

The Lavender Lab has packets of Lavender and other aromatherapy products inside. To release the scents all you need to do is squeeze the Lavender Lab's head and back. After releasing the scents just lay the Lavender Lab on your child's pillow until it is time for sleep. Then remove the Lavender Lab when your child is ready to sleep.

The calming effects of the aromatherapy packets will help your child fall asleep and sleep throughout the night. The scent lasts up to 5 years!

Our opinion of the Lavender Lab . . .

Brea loves dogs so every night when she sees the Lavender Lab on her pillow she says "doggy." I usually let her pet the "doggy" before we remove him off of the bed. Surprisingly she does not seem to get upset when I remove the dog from the bed. I actually thought this maybe an issue.

I think the Lavender Lab is great. I have noticed that Brea does appear to sleep better on nights that the Lavender Lab had been on her pillow. Brea has always been a very restless sleeper and she flops all over the bed during the night. Since using the Lavender Lab I have also noticed a decrease in her flopping, which also means I sleep better!

I think the only thing left is buying a Lavender Lab for my pillow. I think I am getting a little jealous.

Do you want your own Lavender Lab to help your sleeping angel? If so head on over to Cloud B and while you are there check out all of the other great sleep related products for kids!

Brea's Mommy Spotlight on PR!

Hi! Welcome to Brea's Mommy! My name is Sarah and I want you to know that I am very happy you have you stopped in. First and foremost I am a single mom of a beautiful 22 month old little girl. She is my world and we have a lot of fun trying new products. As you may notice reviews on Brea's Mommy also include Brea's reaction to products that are applicable as well as my own opinion. If Brea can use it or eat it then I feel that her opinion is also important to my readers after all quite a few of them have kids of their own!

In addition to being a single mom I also work full time as a registered nurse at a children's psychiatric hospital. This job has made me more aware of all of the horrific things that happen to children and has also made me realize that these things can happen to anyones child. No one is an exception, but knowledge is power. With this in mind I really love reviewing products that increase awareness to children's psychiatric issues, child abuse, and childhood trauma. By reviewing these products I truly hope that I may help a child in need.

I am also a brand new Scentsy Consultant. I am a little lost when it comes to this type of thing. So if anyone out there knows how to make running an at home business a little easier please let me know. I would be happy to review any products that may make keeping my business organized and efficient!

With all of this going on as you can imagine I treasure my downtime (even though I don't get much). Relaxing a little is an important part of the day so if you have something that will help moms relax and enjoy themselves let me know. I would love to help get the word out!

I would also like to mention that Brea's Mommy is hosting Brea's Birthday Bash from Sept. 6th to Sept. 16th. Brea will be turning 2! If you have any products you think would be a good fit for this party please let me know! I have special plans for all products being reviewed for Brea's Birthday Bash just email me for more information!

Thanks to Feels Like Home and Adrienne’s House for hosting PR Spotlight! Please head on over if you would like to post your own Spotlight!

Educator.com Review and Giveaway!

Do you or your children need help with schoolwork? Or maybe your children need help with schoolwork, but you don't quite understand it completely either? Would you like to have a tutor that works on your schedule? Or maybe you just like to learn things. If you answer yes to any of these questions Educator.com might be just what you are looking for!

Educator.com provides lessons for the following subjects Math, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, and a special section named Math Magic!

Learn Math -Has 34 different lessons. Including lectures on Algebra 1, Algebra 2 , Calculus BC, Calculus AB, and Statistics. Each Section is taught from beginning to end. Educator.com not only uses lectures to teach math, but each Professor walks you through many examples to get their point across! When I say walks you through I mean that you can see the equation the professor is working on and while they explain verbally they also write each step out as they complete it! These sections are great for auditory, visual, and tactile (hands on) learners.

Learn Chemistry - Has 22 Courses available. Professor Goldwhite does an excellent job explaining Chemistry. This is one subject I had a lot of difficulty with in Nursing school. Mainly because I had a poor professor. I think that if these lectures had been available at Educator.com then I would have done a lot better! These lessons would be especially beneficial for auditory and visual learners.

Learn Biology - Has 12 Courses Available. These lectures are provided by the California Regents, Professors from the University of California. These courses are quite different from the Math and Chemistry Section. The biology section is a video with the professor speaking in the background. I personally like the first two sections more because it feels like the professor is actually trying to communicate with you. I still believe that this could be beneficial to Biology Students. You just have to get past the computer like voice.

Learn Computer Science - Has 11 Courses available. Professor Gyham provides lectures for this section. Professor Gyham does appear excited about Computer Science and uses an outline during his lecture to help teach. The only issue I had was that Professor Gyham spoke really fast in some of his lessons. This may not be an issue for students who are taking his class and please keep in mind that I do not know anything about Computer Science. With that said, I have to admit I could not really keep up.

The Math Magic Section- Math Magic offers videos explaining fractions, divisibility rules, coin probability, and more. This section could even be helpful to parents who need a refresher course to help their children with schoolwork. I hope Educator.com is still around in a few years because I can already tell you I will probably need a refresher course when Brea starts bringing math home!

I think I would have to say that the best feature of Educator.com is the Outline setup. This makes it easy for students to find exactly what they need help with. I am sure that we all agree that being able to find information quickly when studying for a test is essential. Educator.com has set up their programs with this in mind!

Another thing to keep in mind is that Educator.com would be beneficial to high school students as well as college students. If you are taking a class in one of the subjects available then I would definitely encourage you to give Educator.com a try. If you want to check it out for yourself head on over to Educator.com now. They have free movies to get you started and from there you can decide if Educator.com will benefit you!

Even Bloggers Make Mistakes!

Okay I had my first blogging oopsy when reviewing the Isabelt. Elaine had emailed me instructions and when I was going over them I completely missed the part about hooking the Isabelt below the button on your jeans. Because this is an important instruction it did mess my review up. Today Elaine suggested that I give the Isabelt another shot using it this way.

Result :
Hooking the Isabelt under my button did prevent the slipping that I had noticed in my first review. Now I have to say that the Isabelt is great! No bulk, no slipping, and I no longer need to pull my pants up repeatedly during the day!

To Elaine I would like to send a huge apology for missing the complete instructions. I hope that this and the update on the main post will make up for my error.

Gumpylump Review-Lots of Great and Educational Toys!

Thanks to Gumpylump and Extraordinary Mothers I had a wonderful opportunity to review the Chocolate Party Cake Play Food Set by Voila. This cake was so much more than what I expected!

The Chocolate Party Cake was a beautiful piece of wooden artwork that also happens to be a toy. It looks like it will hold up well with toddler play, which we all know can be quite destructive! It came with 8 candles which have a felt top designed to look like a flame. Brea has actually looked at the pretend candles and said "hot." The candles and the candle slots are both color coated making it easy to incorporate color teaching in playtime. It also came with a doily that displays fractions and a wooden knife and cake server.

I think that Brea's favorite feature of The Chocolate Party Cake was the Velcro sides that allowed her to "cut" the cake. I can not tell you how many times I have put the cake together since we have received it! She loves it and I love that it is one of her few quiet toys!

The Chocolate Party Cake has also allowed Brea and I to work on blowing out the candles. Brea now knows exactly what to do when I tell her to blow out her candles so I am hoping she will be ready at her birthday party in September!

You can find your own Chocolate Party Cake Play Food Set by Voila at Gumpylump along with lots of other great toys! Gumpylump has their toys categorized by age, toy type, and brand for easy searches.

Go ahead and check Gumpylump out I know they have something great for your toddler too!

Trendy Tadpole Review!

The Trendy Tadpole offers a large selection of unique and trendy onesies and tees for your baby or toddler. Regardless of whether you are looking for an ecological friendly, comical, hip or educational design they have something for everyone!

In addition to having a wide array of designs available The Trendy Tadpole uses American Apparel. This means that their onesies and tees are sweatshop free and super soft!

One important thing to note regarding American Apparel is that their clothes run small. So you may want to get a size up from what your child is usually in.

Our Opinion of The Trendy Tadpole . . .

We received the Oopsy Tee in 4T for review purposes. The shirt was extremely soft and Brea appeared to be comfortable wearing it. The shirt was a little big, but we just tucked it in her pants and it worked great. At least she will be able to wear it longer.

I did not notice much of a change after washing and drying the tee. It was still extremely soft. The shrinkage was minimal.

I would like to not that the shirts come a tad small so The Trendy Tadpole recommends buying a size larger. The only thing is that for some reason American Apparel does not appear to make size 3T. Brea currently wears 2T so I would have liked to have received the tee in 3T. The tee actually fits pretty well although it is a bit long. The best thing is that now Brea will be able to wear the tee longer so I guess it all worked out in the end!

All in all, we really liked The Trendy Tadpole and I am looking forward to buying a couple more designs in the future.

Head on over to The Trendy Tadpole and see what is available for your child!

Isabelt Review and Giveaway! Opinion Updated!

Isabelt is all about keeping your pants in place without the bulk of a belt! They will prevent the "back gap" and keep your pants up where they are supposed to be! They have three great products for me to introduce you too the original isabelt, the isabelt wide, and isastrips!

The original isabelt and the isabelt wide are basically the same product only one is wide like a regular belt. They both come in black and clear. They are stretchy making it easy to adjust.

The original isabelt comes in small, medium, large, and plus size. While the Isabelt Wide fits up to a 50 inch waist!

The Isastrips can be used to keep your Isabelt in place or to keep your clothing in place.

Isabelts are to be adjusted prior to wearing and the directions should be read carefully before adjusting. It is really simple, but also different from what you would expect. When you first see the Isabelt you will probably want to adjust it the same as a bra, but it will not work. Instead you must "Hold belt above rough textured area close to adjuster with thumb & forefinger." then "With other hand, gently pull top strap at a downward angle to lengthen or shorten the belt."

My opinion of Isabelt . . .

I really like the Original Isabelt although I did have trouble with it staying in place. The original Isabelt is much thinner than the area between your belt loops making it difficult to keep in place. The Isastrips will help with this if you take the time to put them on. Although I would suggest going with the Isabelt Wide if you are planning to wear it with jeans on a regular basis. This should be closer to the belt loop size making it easier to keep in place.

The Isastrips are great for keeping your Isabelt in place, but also have lots of other uses. For heavy chested women the Isastrips will keep your button up shirt from gapping open just place a strip on the inside of your shirt! I am sure there are lots more, but the button up shirt use is a big one for me!

UPDATE: I received an email from Elaine suggesting that I should hook the Original Isabelt under the button of my jeans to prevent slipage. It appears that this does solve the problem so now I have to say that I give it two thumbs up. Thanks for the heads up Elaine!

No slippage, No Bulk, and no more pulling my pants up all day! I would say that is two thumbs up!!

Mollicoolz Shaker Review and Giveaway!

Brea and I love milkshakes, but I don't have the time or the patience to make them. So the only time we get to indulge in a cool, creamy milkshake is when we are out on the town. I cannot tell you how excited I was to come across Mollicoolz Shakers!

Mollicoolz Shakers come in individual serving containers and all you have to do is add milk and shake for a great tasting milkshake! Moolicoolz shakers consist of "pelletized ice cream beads," which are made to mix with milk. The fill line on the container also allots for different milkshake preferences. It shows how much milk is needed for a thick shake versus a creamy shake! These are available in 4 great flavors including strawberry, vanilla, cookies n cream, and chocolate!

You can find Mollicoolz Shakers in the freezer aisle in most grocery stores and at Wal-Mart Supercenters! They are also available at some gas stations, such as 7-11.

Our opinion of Mollicoolz Shakers . . .

YUMMY! Brea and I have both enjoyed having milkshakes available at home and I love the convenience of pour and shake! It takes less than a minute to grab the Mollicoolz Shaker out of the freezer, pour in some milk, and shake it up! I have to say the best part is that it really tastes like a milkshake! My favorite so far would have to be the Cookies and Cream, but they were all good!

Brea loves it too and knows exactly which container to grab when it is milkshake time. It is her "treat" for the day and so far it seems to satisfy her!

The only problem that I had was when I took it too work. Of course it was not in the freezer for at least an hour or maybe longer and nothing else in the bag was frozen. My guess is that the pellets melted together making it more difficult to mix. Even so I had some really good strawberry milk for lunch!

Giveaway Opportunity!

Two lucky readers will receive a four-pack of Moolicoolz Shakers to try for themselves!

Mood Swinger Review and Giveaway!

Very seldom do conversations with others allow you to say exactly how you feel. Even though some days you may want everyone to know that you are just "fed up." Or maybe you are "optimistic" and do not want to jinx your self by telling everyone. Mood Swinger Mood Magnets are great for these days. Instead of telling everyone what your mood is all you need to do is take a second and pick out your mood magnet to display and everyone will know just how your feeling!

Mood magnets are made with four different categories in mind. The office and home magnets are for adults and then they have a special set just for children! They also have custom magnets that are for promotional purposes!

My opinion of Mood Magnets . . .

I received the Office Mood Magnets for review purposes. I think that these are a great way to show your coworkers how you are feeling with a little humor mixed in. The humorous faces on each of the magnets are also very helpful on those really frustrating days. (I know I had one yesterday!) You know what I am talking about. One of those days when all you want to do is go home and you are just "fed up" and maybe you could feel a little bit better if you could just find something to laugh at!

Reviewing the mood magnets also made me realize how important it can be to take a few moments out of a really hectic day and just evaluate your feelings. By evaluating and acknowledging how you are feeling you can be more productive despite your handicap of the day. Mood Swinger mood magnets were a useful tool in helping me evaluate my moods!

While I did not receive the kid version I would like to add that I think these would be really great for children who have difficulty expressing their feelings. Each picture expresses the mood making easier for children to pick a feeling related to them at the moment.

The kid's version may also be useful in communicating with your teenager. Many times with hectic schedules all around the house teenagers do not find the opportunity or they do not feel comfortable bringing up their feelings with their parents. Maybe if there were something like this they would use it as a way to let you know when they are upset or angry. At the very least it would give them another way to express themselves when they feel the need to use it.

Lastly the home version would also be very useful in communicating your feelings to your family. Very often parents feelings seem to be overlooked and these provide a great outlet to express feelings.

Buy your own set of Mood Magnets at The Mood Swinger!

Oh No! I forgot my Wupzey Coverall!

Brea Loves Watermelon and Chocolate can you tell?

Lesson Learned: Always be sure to take the Wupzey Coverall inside and if I do forget take a minute and go outside to get it!

Thank goodness for the Zout stain remover! Looks like I am going to be putting it to work again!

Wupzey Coverall Review!

My daughter is the messiest eater that ever was! At least it seems that way. I have tried bibs in the past, but now that she is getting bigger they just do not cover enough. Well that is until I came across Wupzey Coverall bibs. These are fabulous for keeping clothes nice, neat, and most importantly stain free!

Wupzey Coverall cover a short sleeved shirt completely and also cover your toddlers legs to about the knees! Wupzey Coveralls are "Made of 100% Rip stop nlyon, they dry quickly and wipe clean." Wupzey also suggests using their coveralls to keep your toddler clean during art projects. We all know how messy those can be!

My opinion of Wupzey Coveralls . . .

We love the Wupzey Coveralls! Brea's clothes stayed nice and clean during mealtimes. I think my favorite thing is that I am able to wipe it clean making it easy to leave in the car so that it is always available when we are out on the town! Now I just need to buy an extra one so I can have one for home and one for on-the-go.

For optimal coverage when eating out be sure that the Wupzey coverall does not go under the highchair strap.

I have not yet tried it during art projects, but we have a finger paint project I have been meaning to do and I am sure that Wupzey is going to save us!

So head on over to Wupzey now and check out all their great mealtime products that will help you prevent that mess!

Oh and if you are interested in what Brea's clothes look like without the Wupzey Coverall just check out my post for the day!

Winners Lots and Lots of Winners! 2

First I would like to thank everyone for entering! Without all of your support I would not be able to continue bringing all of these fabulous giveaways. If you haven't subscribed yet please consider I have a lot more great products coming soon.

I would also like to apologize for not being around as much recently. My life has been a little hectic, but I am back and ready to post!

Now for the winners!

I liked all of the resources they had. They had a lot of videos, coloring pages; and even ring tones. I guarantee I will be talking about this one for a long time. Thank you.

A Sudden Realization . . .

Last weekend I met Grandma and Brea at a friend's son's birthday party. All of the kids there were older than Brea, but she was hanging in with the best of them. Brea and Hailey were riding around in the little Barbie jeep. Brea was having a blast.

I had the opportunity to interact with other adults and enjoy some great conversation! While I was standing on the porch looking down at all of the children playing I had a sudden realization. . . My Baby is Not Going to Be a Baby Forever!

Of course this is something that I have always known. In fact it is something that I pray for. Like every mother I hope and pray that my daughter will lead a full and healthy life. That still does not change the feeling, in that moment. In that moment looking down at all the older children made me realize that one day Brea will not be small enough to toss in the air. She will not be full of excitement just because mommy walked in the door. She will want her privacy and be embarrassed because mommy tried to give her a kiss. Oh and lets not forget their will be one day that mommy will suddenly turn into hey mom!

Isn't it amazing how something so normal can cause such a mixture of emotions. Of course I also look forward to being a part of Brea's life and seeing the person that she becomes. I look forward to guiding her and helping and encouraging her to make the right decisions. I look forward to meeting her children (of course that should be a LONG, LONG time from now!)

With all of that said . . . I WILL STILL MISS MY BABY!

Have you ever had that sudden realization?

Ni Hao, Kai-lan: Kai-lan’s Great Trip to China Review

Ni Hao, Kai-lan: Kai-lan's Great Trip to China is a fun, educational video. To be honest I had never heard of Ni Hao, Kai-lan prior to this review opportunity and I was very curious about it. I really enjoyed watching Kai-lan's Great Trip to China with Brea and I am looking forward to watching this show on Nick JR.

Ni Hao, Kai-lan: Kai-lan's Great Trip to China introduces young children to the chinese culture and mandarin chinese language. While doing this Kai-lan also manages to includes helping children learn ways to handle different emotions. This DVD includes three episodes all of which include great adventures and music to keep your child's attention while teaching them valuable lessons!

Our Opinion of Ni Hao, Kai-lan: Kai-lan's Great Trip to China . . .

I love that Ni Hao, Kai-lan helps Brea learn chinese. I have read quite a bit of information that says that young children are more susceptible to learning foreign languages than adults. I love that even though Brea is watching a cartoon that she enjoys she is also being taught something that I am incapable of teaching. Even better I get to learn a little myself!

Brea seems to really enjoy Kai-lan. It captures her attention and she even points out different characters and animals that she sees in the show. She is 22 months old now so I will be interested to see how long it takes her to pick up a few chinese words from the movie. (Guess that means I had better pay attention or I will be the one at a loss!)

Buy Ni Hao, Kai-lan:Kai-lan's Great Trip to China now at Amazon

Don't forget you can also find Ni Hao, Kai-lan on Nick Jr.

Eebee Adventures Review and Giveaway! (US and Canada)

Eebee Adventures will capture your child's attention by showing Eebee play with normal household objects. During the course of each adventure you will also see real life toddlers participating in each activity also. Some of the activities shown in the movie include playing in cereal, playing peek-a-boo, knocking the sippy cup on the floor, fun with a flashlight and lots more.

Eebee Adventures encourages parent and child interaction by showing lots of different ways to interact with your children. One of the bonus features included on each DVD are explanations for why each activity will help promote your child's development. The best thing about this is that the activities are all expensive and mostly use items that you will already have in your home. With the current state of the economy finding inexpensive ways to interact with our children and while promoting development is crucial.

Eebee adventures also has many other products available that promote parent and child interaction. We were lucky enough to be able to review the Eebee puppet along with the dvds. There are lots of other products available and I will definitely be checking them out before Brea's next birthday!

Eebee Adventures also has a music bonus feature where each activity is shown as a music video. This is great to play while you and your child are doing some of the activities shown. Or if your child is like mine and loves music they may just enjoy watching the music videos!

Our Opinion of Eebee Adventures . . .

I love that this promotes parent and child interaction and Brea and I will definitely be trying out some of the activities. I think one of the first ones on our list would have to be the laundry play. I am hoping that while we are playing I can figure out a way to get the laundry folded too! I also love that even though it is beneficial to me it still keeps Brea occupied while I get a few things done around the house (or the blog!)

Brea appears to be fascinated with Eebee and even asks to watch it on a regular basis. Eebee usually holds her attention throughout the adventures. Although she is 22 months old so this is not always the case. I have to say that for it to hold her attention for anytime at all says a whole lot.

Brea and I both enjoy playing with the puppet. She thinks Eebee is great and usually we play a tickle game with the puppet. She loves to be "tickle"

Slangman's World Review! A fun way for children to learn languages!

Slangman's World is a great new television show that helps teach children new languages through music, animation and repetition. Slangman's World uses vibrant colors and fun characters to capture the attention of children ages 2 through 11.

Some interesting facts about Slangman's World . . .

-David Burke who is the star of Slangman's World also composes all of the songs and is the voice for all 14 animated characters in the show. (Now thats talented!)

-"Slangman's World has been airing on American Forces Network in 175 countries since January 5, 2009"

-Each episode only lasts for 5 minutes making it great for small children with small attention spans

-Starting in September "PBS Atlanta will begin running 90-second mini episodes"

If you are like me and do not have access to either of these networks you can also enjoy Slangman's World. Just Slangman's World and purchase a DVD it includes 10 five minute episodes!

Our opinion of Slangman's World . . .

I think Slangman's World will be a beneficial tool in teaching Brea new languages. In today's world knowing other languages definitely gives you an advantage. At the same time learning new languages can be difficult for children so finding new and interesting ways to teach them is essential. Slangman's World will definitely be included in teaching Brea languages.

Brea is 22 months old and the 5 minute episodes are perfect for her. She is a very active child and does not sit still for long. Very few shows hold her attention for longer than 5 minutes. Brea enjoys dancing to the music in Slangman's World and jumps around the living room while "Pronto" is playing.

I would like to state that I think this will be more useful for Brea in a few months. I definitely plan on keeping it around because I think it will only grow in educational value as she gets older!

(I did receive a promotional copy of Slangman's World for review purposes. I did not recieve any other compensation for the review. In no way did the company influence my opinion of Slangman's World.)

Not only does this book cover financial difficulties, but it also share stories about peoples courage in other personal crisis such as illness. "If Your Child Eats This Book, Everything Will Still Be Okay" book review

With the economy the way it is the one place we don't and should not try to make cuts is our children's healthcare. With this said, wouldn't you love to have someone you could go to for advice about that rash or bug bite before rushing off to the Emergency Department or your pediatrician's office?

Lara Zibners, MD wrote "If Your Kid Eats This Book, Everything Will Still Be Okay," just for this purpose. "Twenty-five million kids in the United States are taken to the ER each year, and more than 50 percent of these visits may be unneccessary." Could you imagine the money that could be saved if we could cut out even a small portion of the unneccessary visits.

Please remember that while this book is a great guide and may prevent unnessary medical expenses it is just that, a guide. This book should not replace healthcare and if you feel you child's condition needs immediate care or if you are not comfortable with the books recommendations than by all means call your doctor or 911 immediately. One of Zibners's four rules include "trust you gut" so if you feel time is of the essense don't hesitate seek medical attention immediately. After all it is your child's life that is at stake.

With that said "If Your Child Eats This Book, Everything Will Still Be Okay," covers most everything a parent may need to know. Zibners includes everything from common newborn concerns to childhood respiratory conditions, to fever, and much much more.

In each section you will not only find the medical issues, but Zibners also dispels many myths associated with the issues. Zibners also adds highlighted notes that may be marked "warnings," "emergency," and "911." "Warnings" provides helpful information to keep your child safe by preventing the injury. "Emergency" lets you know that you should probably call your pediatrician if this is occuring. Lastly "911" lets you know that it is time to put down the book and call 911!

The information included in "If Your Child Eats This Book, Everything Will Still Be Okay" is all indexed in the back of the book. This is important because if something is occuring right now parents need an easy way to find the needed information quickly.

Overall I think this is a very informative book that will benefit all parents and caregivers. Not only will this information give you peace of mind but may also save you lots of money!
If Your Kid Eats This Book, Everything Will Still Be Okay: How to Know if Your Child's Injury or Illness Is Really an Emergency Now!

Willow Book Review

"Willow" by Julia Hoban, tells the story of a teenage girl who was driving the car that wrecked and killed both of her parents. Willow resorts to "cutting" or self mutilation as a way to deal or actually not deal with the death of her parents.

"Willow" is a fictional story, but tells the story of what many "cutters" experience and feel. This book is written based on Willow's point of view and brings to light her thoughts and emotions.

For an average person it is very difficult to imagine what could bring someone to "cut." We tend to forget that most if not all "cutters" have experienced some type of trauma during their lives that may have affected the way they perceive things. Things that seem like common sense to you and I seem completely different to someone like Willow.

As most of you may know I am a registered nurse at a Children's Psychiatric Hospital. I have worked with many people who are experiencing the same type of things as Willow is. I am really glad that I have had the opportunity to review "Willow" as it has given me a new perspective on many of my patients.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who has a friend, family member, or other loved one that has experienced any type of trauma. Please remember that trauma can come in many shapes and sizes and will not always be obvious to the observer. Most people whether they know it or not know someone who has been traumatized in some way. This book may make you rethink your approach to the situation and give you different ideas on how your actions maybe interpreted by you loved one.

I think that "Willow" is a must read for anyone working with children and/or young adults. Sometimes when we work with people everyday we can miss some pretty significant changes or misunderstand their actions. Reading "Willow" may give you the added perspective you need to help someone you work with!

You can buy Willow here

(I did receive a copy of "Willow" for review purposes. No other compensation was received. This review is based solely on my opinion and was not affected in any way be the publisher or author)

Scentsy Review and Giveaway!

Today I am celebrating my new venture as a Scentsy Consultant and what better way to celebrate than host a giveaway for all of my wonderful readers!

First I would like to tell you all a little about why I chose to become a Scentsy Consultant. I have been introduced to many business opportunities in the past, but usually these products were quite expensive. Due to the cost of the items I would not have felt comfortable encouraging my friends and family to purchase the items on a regular basis. Scentsy on the other hand is reasonably priced and when you compare it to other products that have the same scent value you will even feel like you are getting a great deal! Scentsy is such a great product that I am sure that once my customers will be back for more! Because the product is so great I also don't feel guilty when shaoing it off to my friends and family.

If you are looking for a way to make some extra money and would like some additional information I would be happy to talk with you. Just send me an email and don't worry if you decide it is not for you I will not keep calling you!

Now a little about the Scentsy products. . .

Scentsy is a product that can turn your home into your oasis. Depending on your mood you can choose from more than 80 scents so that your home can reflect you and how you feel. Or if your having a bad day you may decide to turn your home into an escape with scents such as Pineapple Paradise or Beach. The scents are easily changed and can be poured back into their original container for later use! Before scentsy I had to have multiple different candles sitting around if I wanted different scents available. I am so glad that I can use this space for more important things now!

As some of you may know Scensy is a wickless system. Scentsy warmer's use 25 watt bulbs to melt the Scentsy Bars. There are many reasons that this is beneficial. The most important to me is that I don't have to panic if I forget to turn it off. To be honest sometimes I leave it on just so that I can enjoy the scents as soon as I walk in my door!

Not only will Scentsy be a great addition to your home, but it will also make great gifts for all of your friends and family!

Now what is a celebration without a giveaway! So lets get on with it . . .

Dropps Laundry Detergent Review and Giveaway!

I have been wanting to try Dropps laundry detergent for some time so when the opportunity arose to do a review I jumped on it! I am all about convenience and ease so this looked like a great product for me!

Here is what Dropps has to say about their product . . .

"Our mess-free, feather-weight detergent pacs are filled with
super-concentrated cleaning magic. Pre-measured for foolproof
laundry-doing, the dissolvable pacs waste nothing. Perfect for busy
moms, dorm-dwellers, and anyone else who can’t be bothered
measuring, pouring and weightlifting the big-bottle brands."

Dropps can be used . . .
with "all colors"
with "all fabrics" from cotton to "silk"
with "all washers" front loaders and top loaders!
in "all temperatures" whether you use hot or cold the pac will still dissolve leaving your clothes fresh and clean!

Dropps are pre measured detergent pacs. All you have to do is toss one pack in for small or medium loads and two packs for large loads and your clothes are ready to go!

Oh and I must not forget to mention that Dropps now even has a baby detergent line. So you can have both safe and gentle detergent for your baby and easy drop and go convenience. This is a great plus for every new mother whether sleep deprived or rushing to get back to the fussy baby we are accidents waiting to happen!

My opinion Dropps laundry detergent. . .

Dropps would be a great option for me! I am one of those people who have never measured laundry detergent correctly. I always just fill it too the top and dump it in. Of course more often than not I also spill some while doing this. For a long time I never realized that I was using way too much detergent and by the time I did it was habit. As most of you know habits can be hard to break. So when you factor in all the extra detergent I use and spill Dropps would probably save me a lot of money.

I also love the drop and go because I can get back to my toddler faster. As we all know toddlers can get into everything pretty quickly so the less time I have to focus on starting the washer the less time she has to mess something up!

Best of all they left our clothes fresh and clean.

I must add that Brea came up and smelled the clothes after they were washed and said on. After putting her shirt on she smelled the shirt a couple of times before going back to playing!

Giveaway Opportunity!

One lucky reader will receive a 3 month supply of Dropps ( 3-20 count packs)!

Mandatory Entry must be completed for any entries to count. Pick me, I want to win, etc will NOT be published or eligible for the giveaway!

Mandatory Entry - Please visit Dropps and tell me something you learned about the company!

How many people get to celebrate Independance Day twice a year!

We do and have for as long as I can remember. My hometown always has their Independance Day Celebration about a week after the 4th of July. I think it orginally started because the neighboring towns are all bigger and they wanted a good turnout.

So every year we not only get to go and celebrate on the 4th of July, but we also have the "Extravaganza" to look forward to! The Extravaganza has lots of food and craft vendors, a small area with rides, the playground, music all day Saturday and Sunday, then of course the fireworks on Sunday.

So Brea and I have spent the last 2 days hanging out at the park enjoying the festivities. So I am a little bit behind on getting some posts up, but hopefully I will catch everything up Monday and Tuesday. Be sure to come and check out my posts I have some more great products to introduce everyone too!

Giveaway Linky! July 12th

As most of you know I love giveaways. I love hosting them AND I love entering them. Recently I have had a bit much on my plate and have not had as much time to hunt for giveaways as I have in the past. So starting this week every Sunday I will be posting "Let me know where I can find your giveaways!"

I really hope that you will leave your giveaway links. Leave as many links as you would like. Please include the giveaway item and the end date in your link and link directly to the permalink for the giveaway!
