Skin MD review and giveaway!

As most of you know I work full time as a registered nurse. I wash my hands a lot and they usually end up really dry and irritated. I am always looking for great skin care product to use. When I received the opportunity to review Skin MD sheilding lotion I could not wait to try it!

Unlike moisturizing lotions Skin MD sheilding lotion + SPF 15 not only provides moisture, but also provides an invisible barrier to keep natural moisture in and chemicals out! While this sounds like a great idea I did not have my hopes up. After all I have tried many things to no avail.

Skin MD has also been dermatologist approved for Ezcema patients.

My thoughts on Skin MD . . .
I was pleasantly surprised to find that I really like Skin MD sheilding lotion and that it worked! I can use Skin MD on my hands before going into work, wash my hands all day long, and they are still smooth and soft when I leave.

I love that Skin MD sheilding lotion + SPF 15 continues to protect my hands even after the initial application!

I am so relieved to have Skin MD and for once I am not dreading the winter. In the winter my hands get so dry they become cracked and sore. So sore in fact that it is difficult to move my hands without wanting to cry. With Skin MD I am confident that this winter I can prevent all of that and still have clean hands!

  1. Glycerin has been the standard against which all humectants are measured. Until now no other humectant drew in as much moisture from the air as glycerin. But the proprietary formulation in Skin MD Natural has a moisturizing factor of at least 6 times greater than glycerin.

  5. A plain moisturizing lotion alone does not solve the problem of dry skin is what I learned! thank you

  6. I learned that Common household products, harsh soaps and antibacterial agents strip the natural oils and moisture from the skin. As a result it becomes more susceptible to irritants penetrating and stripping out even more moisture and oils. Thanks for the chance.

  7. Skin MD is more of a treatment than just a lotion. Lotions work by just adding water and moisture to your skin, while Skin MD actually works with your body to heal itself and make a protective barrier.

  10. The propriatory ingredients bind to the damaged stratum corneum* of the skin and increases its integrity. The pores are not affected because in the pore the statum corneum is compact and does not absorb the product.. The bodies fluid transfers continue as before.

  12. I like how Dr. Compare says SkinMD is like "a rain coat, when you put it on your body, you are protected but you can still breathe." It's hard to find lotions that do all SkinMD does, yet don't feel cloying and thick on the skin. Thank you for the contest!

  19. Despite its shielding effect Skin MD Natural™ does not prevent the skin from breathing, in fact it improves it because it helps keep the skin pores from being clogged with outside irritants that are often too complex to be eliminated naturally.

This is what my poor hands need too

  51. I learned this: "By using a shielding lotion that bonds with the outer layer of your skin you can keep irritants out and moisture in. Because most moisturizers do not seal in the body's own moisture, they artificially lubricate the outer layers of skin. When they wear off, the lubrication is gone and the original dryness remains. Sometimes this process will draw out the body's natural moisture and contribute to the dehydration process."

  75. The artificial moisturizers in conventional creams and lotions can send a signal to the moisture producing parts of your skin that enough moisture is present. Your skin then makes less of the natural moisture needed to resolve a dry skin problem. With a shielding lotion you protect your own natural oils and moisture in the skin, so it heals faster," says Dr. Zogg.
