Sensa Update - October 5th

Okay so first I would like to be completely honest. I did really well my first week using Sensa and sprinkled almost everything. On the other hand the second week I hardly sprinkled a thing. My daughter was sick and things were just hectic!

So after my first week I weighed in at 182 which means I had a 2.5 lb weight loss! Woohoo! This should have kept me motivated, but for some reason life got in the way as usual.

After week 2 using no Sensa I weighed 183.5. So I gained 1.5 lbs back. Boohoo!

This week I am back on the Sensa wagon and hoping to start losing again. What better motivation than having your weight guessed at an amusement park. I guess there is no more lying to myself that I don't look my weight. Oh well maybe now I will actually stick with the program.

Starting weight- 184.5
Starting BMI - 30.7
Current weight - 183.5
Current BMI- 30.5

Sensa Review -The Beginning

Sensa is a weight loss tool designed by Alan Hirsch M.D., who has dedicated his career to uncover the secrets of the sensory system in the human body. Sensa is simple to use you just sprinkle it on the surface of your food prior to eating. It is important to sprinkle Sensa on all of your foods. The only things that you will not use Sensa on is soups and liquids.

Sensa works by using your sense of taste and smell to make you feel more satisfied and fuller faster and longer. This is important for me because I am horrible when it comes to overeating and snacking. I get weird cravings out of nowhere usually for something that is in no way healthy. I am really hoping that Sensa decreases these cravings.

My 3 month starter kit included tastants for Months 1,2, and 3, a dvd and a starter book. Each month comes with 2 shakers one to keep at home and one for on the go. The shakers are small enough to fit easily into your pocket or purse. Each shaker has a Salty and a Sweet compartment. You pick salty for saltier foods such as pasta, vegetables, meats and use sweet for desserts or fruits. These tastants will not season your food so you will still need to use your regular seasonings.

As a Sensa user there is also a community forum available on TrySensa.com where you can talk to others about your weight loss needs and build a support system with people who are going through the same issues.

This morning is the first morning that I have tried Sensea. While I cannot comment on any results at this time, I can say that it did not change the taste of my honey bun at all. Yeah I know not exactly a healthy breakfast, but what can I say I was running late for work.

This weeks post is just to give a little information about Sensa and Alan Hirsch M.D. Over the next 12 weeks I will be posting updates on how Sensa is working for me. These posts will include real time stats such as BMI and weight. Ugh yeah I know weight is a private thing, but I really want to see and show how well this system works.

Join the pound for pound challenge with me!

General Mills has teamed up with the biggest loser to promote healthy weight loss while providing food to those in need! For every pound we lose General Mills will donate 10 cents to Feeding America. Some people may say 10 cents what is that going to buy, but apparently it is "enough to provide one pound of groceries to a local food bank. Now we know where they get the pound for pound. The minimum donation will be $100,000, which is equivilent to 1,000,000 pounds of food. The maximum donation will be $500,000, which is equivilent to 5,000,000 pounds of food. Please join us in this challenge! In this case more people means more food!

You can also mail participating seals and lids from many of General Mills products. For each lid or seal they receive they will donate 10 cent to Feeding America. For a total up to $275,000, which is equivilent to 2,750,000 pounds of food! Just think if everybody joins in on this we could help provide fellow americans in need with up to 7,750,000 pounds of food! Now thats alot of food.

I for one had been planning to lose some weight before this summer anyway. This is a great way to help others while I help myself. My pledge is 14 pounds, but I hope to lose quite a bit more. I have some size 9 jeans that I just can't bring myself to get rid of. Maybe just maybe this will be the motivation I need to get back into them.

Now its your turn: Please let me know if you signed up for the challenge. Do you have any weight loss ideas? If so I would love to hear them!
