Pond's Wet Cleansing Towelettes Review

I am sure we have all experienced one of those days when our makeup gets messed up from crying, sweating, or some other mishap. What is a lady to do? Most of the time going home to freshen up is out of the question. There just isn't enough time in the day to drop everything and go home to do make-up! What we need is something that is compact enough to fit easily in our purse, something that we can use without water, and of course something that will actually remove all of our makeup!

Guess what ladies! Pond's has come to our rescue! Pond's Wet Cleansing Towelettes meet all of our needs for those on the go emergencies. Pond's Wet Cleansing Towelettes left my face feeling clean and smooth. There were no left over smudges and no soapy residue! Definitely a must have for any woman of today's society.

My shameful little secret . . . Pond's Wet Cleansing Towelettes also come in handy for those extremely exhausting days of working full time and being a single mom when all I want to do is go to bed. I have to admit having these by the bedside make it so much quicker to wash my face!

For more information on Pond's Wet Cleansing Towelettes please check out this site.

Sensa Update - October 5th

Okay so first I would like to be completely honest. I did really well my first week using Sensa and sprinkled almost everything. On the other hand the second week I hardly sprinkled a thing. My daughter was sick and things were just hectic!

So after my first week I weighed in at 182 which means I had a 2.5 lb weight loss! Woohoo! This should have kept me motivated, but for some reason life got in the way as usual.

After week 2 using no Sensa I weighed 183.5. So I gained 1.5 lbs back. Boohoo!

This week I am back on the Sensa wagon and hoping to start losing again. What better motivation than having your weight guessed at an amusement park. I guess there is no more lying to myself that I don't look my weight. Oh well maybe now I will actually stick with the program.

Starting weight- 184.5
Starting BMI - 30.7
Current weight - 183.5
Current BMI- 30.5

Are you interested in trying Sensa for yourself? Sensa is offering a 60 day trial. Keep Sensa for 30 days and if you like it then you keep it. You will be billed a discounted rate for a 60 day supply and be enrolled into the Exclusive Sensa Club.

Sensa Review -The Beginning

Sensa is a weight loss tool designed by Alan Hirsch M.D., who has dedicated his career to uncover the secrets of the sensory system in the human body. Sensa is simple to use you just sprinkle it on the surface of your food prior to eating. It is important to sprinkle Sensa on all of your foods. The only things that you will not use Sensa on is soups and liquids.

Sensa works by using your sense of taste and smell to make you feel more satisfied and fuller faster and longer. This is important for me because I am horrible when it comes to overeating and snacking. I get weird cravings out of nowhere usually for something that is in no way healthy. I am really hoping that Sensa decreases these cravings.

My 3 month starter kit included tastants for Months 1,2, and 3, a dvd and a starter book. Each month comes with 2 shakers one to keep at home and one for on the go. The shakers are small enough to fit easily into your pocket or purse. Each shaker has a Salty and a Sweet compartment. You pick salty for saltier foods such as pasta, vegetables, meats and use sweet for desserts or fruits. These tastants will not season your food so you will still need to use your regular seasonings.

As a Sensa user there is also a community forum available on TrySensa.com where you can talk to others about your weight loss needs and build a support system with people who are going through the same issues.

This morning is the first morning that I have tried Sensea. While I cannot comment on any results at this time, I can say that it did not change the taste of my honey bun at all. Yeah I know not exactly a healthy breakfast, but what can I say I was running late for work.

This weeks post is just to give a little information about Sensa and Alan Hirsch M.D. Over the next 12 weeks I will be posting updates on how Sensa is working for me. These posts will include real time stats such as BMI and weight. Ugh yeah I know weight is a private thing, but I really want to see and show how well this system works.

Starting weight- 184.5
Starting BMI - 30.7

Internet Password Organizer Review and Giveaway

I have so many different internet accounts set up they are becoming really hard to keep up with. I really do not want to use the same password for my accounts due to the jerks in the world that spend their time hacking into other people's information. I actually had this happen to my hotmail account recently and it was really bothersome.

Internet Password Organizer is a great way for my to keep up with my website passwords in a nice organized way. Internet Password Organizer is set up like an address book. It has a separate section for each letter of the alphabet making it easy to find the website you need information for. Each entry provides a space for the website url, username, password, and notes.

I really love the notes section because it allows me to make a little notation about what I like most about the site or why the site is especially useful to me. I know + it sounds crazy, but sometimes I completely forget about sites that could really benefit me. The world wide web provides so many great sites that it is easy to get bogged down with too much and get a little off track.

In addition to keeping track of your internet passwords this organizer also has sections for ISP information, Home Network Configuration, License Manager for Software, Mac Addresses, and additional notes. Everything you should need for your computer time all in one convenient little book!

I would definitely suggest this for anyone who uses the internet.

Jumpstart Pet Rescue for Wii Review!

Box Cover

I do not yet own a Nintendo Wii, but will be getting one for Christmas this year! I know the surprise aspect is gone, but that is okay I get a Wii.

With that said most of my friends already have the Nintendo Wii System and I have heard them complain about the lack of educational games available for young children. So when the opportunity arose for me to review the new Jumpstart game for Wii I really wanted to participate. With that in mind I called a couple of friends and they agreed to let me use their Wii to review Jumpstart Pet Rescue.

Jumpstart Pet Rescue has been has been rated "Early Childhood" by the ERSP the "Entertainment Software Rating Board." Jumpstart Pet Rescue includes 5 "discovery worlds" that our children can explore while trying to find the missing pets. During their exploration they will be able to play over "70 learning lesson activities" and learn over "75 essential skills."

Our opinion of Jumpstart Pet Rescue . . .

I think that Jumpstart Pet Rescue is a great game for young children! There are many different activities that will keep children coming back for more. Pet Rescue has great animation and truly focuses on teaching our children!

Seth (7 years old) - Seth really enjoyed making the puppy do tricks and driving the submarine. He also seemed to really enjoy playing on the water slide and interacting with the animals. Some of the games were a little easy for him, but he still found a few that held his interest. I must say that he wanted to keep playing when it was his brothers turn!

Dennis (4 year old) - Dennis really enjoyed playing Pet Rescue. I think that the games were perfect for him and he had a lot of fun with them. He also enjoyed the water slide and the submarine. He played a lot of games that focused on learning colors and following directions. He also wanted to keep playing when it was time to go. He actually wanted us to leave the game there!

Brea (23 months old) - While Brea did not play the game and has actually never played a video game to date she still appeared quite interested. Pet Rescue has movies that teach ABCs, counting, and colors with songs and dancing. Brea loves music so she was hooked. She also seemed to be interested in the different animals on the screen and would yell out their name when she saw them.

I cannot wait until Christmas when Brea and I will be able to explore Pet Rescue even more. I think that this will be a wonderful learning opportunity for her and I to use together!

I did receive a copy of Jumpstart Pet Rescue for review purposes. This did not impact my review in any way and no other compensation was received.

Simple Green Naturals Review and Giveaway! (US Only)

Now that I am a mother I want to help preserve the environment in anyway that I can. I know that the toxins we use in everyday life are hurting the environment in more ways than I know. To be honest though before Brea came into my life I never gave much thought to what the world would look like in 50 or 100 years. Now I want the world to stay beautiful and green for Brea and for her children!

When I came across the opportunity to review Simple Green Naturals I just had to give them a try. This is my first experience with Environmentally Friendly cleaners. I had this preconceived notion that if they were good for the environment then they would not have the cleaning power that the old fashion cleaners have. I was thrilled to learn that Simple Green Naturals not only cleaned well, but also left my home smelling clean and inviting!

A little about what Simple Green Naturals provides . . .
" 100% natural ingredient sources
• Biodegradable formulations
• Full ingredient disclosure
• International scientifically-accepted ingredient names
• Naturals scents are IFRA compliant and made of 100% natural essential oils & plant extracts.
• 100% recyclable PETE plastic bottles with 25%+ post-consumer content, printed with soy inks
• Natural Versus Naturally Derived - learn more
• Non-toxic formulations
• No animal testing"
The above information was obtained from the Simple Green Naturals web page.

My Opinion of Simple Green Naturals . . .

At first I was going to write an opinion for each cleaner, but that would have been a little repeatative. Instead I will just give you my overall opinion of the products and things that stood out to me. All of Simple Green Naturals cleaned as good if not better then the regular household cleaners I had been using.

I was very impressed with how the All Purpose Cleaner cleaned the food off of Brea's messy high-chair. Usually it needs quite a bit of scrubbing, but it seemed to come off with ease!

The Simple Green floor cleaner also stood out for me because it comes in a spray! I love that I can spray the floor and then mop it just makes life a little bit easier! I also really enjoyed the smell. It kind of reminded me of a forest smell!

I also have to mention the Simple Green Naturals Bathroom Cleaner! I absolutely loved the minty smell that lingered in my bathroom after cleaning. Much, much better than the regular smells of bathroom cleaner! It also cleaned the bathroom really well!

Everything else worked fabulously too! If you want to make the green conversion regarding your cleaning supplies then I definitely suggest giving Simple Green Naturals a try!

Simple Green Naturals are available to buy online and at many retail stores just check their site for a retailer close to you!

Giveaway Opportunity!

One lucky winner will receive the complete Simple Green Naturals collection to try in their home!

Mandatory Entry must be completed for any entries to count. Pick me, I want to win, etc will NOT be published or eligible for the giveaway!

Shadow Effect DVD Review

As most of you know I am a registered nurse at a children's psychiatric hospital so I love learning about what makes us tick. Shadow Effect is a documentary that focuses on how people subconsciously retain things from the past and how it affects the person we are today. These things maybe innocent comments made by our parents or peers that we have internalized into something more. They may also include traumatic experiences that have happened to us. Shadow Effect states that every person has a "shadow" and that each person's shadow is a result of internalizing their fears.

My opinion of Shadow Effect . . .

I like that Shadow Effect encourages people to look into themselves for answers and that it encourages their to face their insecurities. I know that I have many things from my past that I still need to work through and I plan to look into Shadow Effect more. While I have tried to forgive, I have not forgotten. There are times that those memories still haunt me. I can also say that I try my best to repress them even though I know that I actually need to work them through so that I can completely move on.

I don't like that Shadow Effect says that when judging others it always has to do with repressing our own desires to do the same thing. While I think that this is true on a lot of occasions I do not think that this is a rule. Most people look down on rapists, child molesters, and murders and I do not think that all of these people are repressing these things.

So to end I want to say that I do plan on investing in some of the Shadow Effect products in the future. I really want to work though some things in my life and I hope that this will help me put them to rest.

Buy Shadow Effect or check out more about the program here.

What a great 8 days off!

Tomorrow I go back to work, but what a wonderful 8 days off! Brea and I have had so much fun. We went to the beach and to Busch Gardens Williamsburg. If you have a chance to take your little one to Busch Gardens be sure to have breakfast or lunch with Elmo. It is well worth the extra money. Brea got to meet Cookie Monster, Bert, Ernie, Big Bird, and of course Elmo. Each character interacted with her and at the end she got on stage and danced with all the characters and other kids! It was a blast.

We also went to two different fairs, where Brea got to ride lots of kiddie rides. Tonight she also got to pet lots of animals and tomorrow we plan to go back for more!

My Scentsy business is taking off well. I have 2 basket parties going on now and another going out Monday. I have quite a few parties booked. It is great selling a great product at a great prices. With Scentsy there is no need to feel like you are selling someone short because the product is great and reasonable. I just got my first commission check for 130 dollars (that was just 1 party!) If you are looking for some extra cash let me know and I will tell you more about it!

As for Brea's Mommy I am a little bit behind with my posts, but hope to catch up with everything over the next week or so. Keep us in mind we have lots of great stuff coming up including Brea's Birthday Bash in September!

Pure Silk Shaving Cream Review

Shaving your legs is a chore every woman has to endure on a regular basis so finding a good shaving lotion is a must. Of course we all look for shaving lotion that results in silky smooth legs after all why else do we shave! What if you could find a great shaving lotion that not only gives you that silky smooth feel, but also provides a wonderful aromatic experience. By aromatic I mean wonderful fruity fragrances that take your mind on vacation for a little while!

Come on lets be honest, most women (at least mothers) have very little me time so we have to make the most of what we have! I for one am always looking for ways to make my showers more of an escape, even though sometimes that doesn't even end up being me time!

Pure Silk Shaving Cream is manufactured by Barbasol, which is well known for men's shaving lotion. Pure Silk Shaving Cream provides all of the above. Well at least it did for me and I hope that it does for you also! So next time your out picking up that shaving cream be sure to check out the Pure Silk and let me know what you think!

(I did receive Pure Silk Shaving Cream for review purposes. No other compensation received. This review is based on my opinion of the product reviewed and was in no way influenced by the said company )

Momspit Review!

How often have you been in a situation where you just have to get that smudge off your child's face and you have no water to use so out comes the mom spit? Everyone does it at some point or another. After all it is human nature to keep our children clean. My grandmother told me she had not used her spit on Brea instead she stuck her finger in Brea's mouth then wiped her face! Can you say ewwww without even thinking about it she had just stuck every germ on her finger into poor Brea's mouth!

Thanks to Momspit this is no longer a problem! Momspit is made to use in the same way that you would use your own spit. Just put a little on your finger or apply directly to the area to be cleaned and rub it in. The dirt will be gone! At first I was very skeptical of Momspit, but it worked fantastically. Momspit leaves your child's skin feeling soft. It does not dry out skin and does not contain any alcohol!

Momspit comes in 2oz and 7oz containers! The 2 oz containers are perfect for your pocketbook and is a must have for all parents and caregivers! It is available in unscented, fig & green tea, and lemon & white tea!

Head on over to Amazon to pick up your own MomSpit No-Rinse Cleanser for Hands and Face SpitKit Assorted 1 Fig, 1 Lemon & 1 Unscented (3-2oz)

(I did receive a momspit for review purposes. No other compensation received. This review is based on my opinion of the product reviewed and was in no way influenced by the said company )

If this is this case just let it harden at room temperature before removing or just pour it directly out of the bag. If you do not yet have a warmer you should still be able to check out the scent, but keep in mind that the scent is released by heat! I hope that you enjoy your samples!

PBS Programing Mega Review!

I love finding educational DVDs for Brea to watch. I figure that if she is going to spend time in front of the television she might as well be learning something! Thanks to PBS programming and Extraordinary Mothers we had the opportunity to review 3 great DVDS!

The first DVD we watched was Dive Olly Dive - Ship Shape Subs! I had never heard of Dive Olly Dive and was very impressed by my first impression. This DVD takes your child on adventures with Olly, Beth, and Skid where they learn valuable lessons such as the importance of listening to others, the value of learning how to do things without today's technology, and not judging things based on the appearance! Dive Olly Dive has fun animated characters that will keep your child interested throughout each adventure!

The other two DVDs were Sid the Science Kid! Sid shares his enthusiasm for finding answers with our children! He shows children how to go about finding the answers to questions by asking others and by encouraging safe and fun experiments. Sid the Science Kid also incorporates fun animations, dancing, and music to hold our little one's attention! Brea enjoys dancing along with the songs on Sid the Science Kid and honestly I kind of enjoy them too! They really make you want to move! We received both "Change Happens" and "The Bug Club." "Change happens" focuses on how and why things change such as why ice melts and more. "The Bug Club" focuses on animals and nature including where they live and why, how they communicate, what leaves are for and more!

PBS has great programming for children and I am so glad to include all of these DVDs to Brea's shelf!

Sonic Drive-In Review and Giveaway

Have you ever been to a Sonic Drive-In? If not you should really give it a shot. It is super convenient and family friendly. Recently, they have even come up with healthy meal options for people trying to improve their diets!

So first we are going to start with the healthy menu options!

For Adults
-Grilled Chicken Salad
-Grilled Chicken Wrap
-Grilled Chicken Sandwich
- banana
-apple slices with caramel dipping sauce
-water
- smoothies

For Kids -
-Wacky Pack with Chicken Strips, apple wedges with caramel dipping sauce, and 1% milk (recommended, but can be substituted)
-1% chocolate milk and apple juice are available
- If your child must have french fries then "a WebMD nutritionist identified SONIC regular french fries as the most healthy among other fast-food restaurants."

A little about the Wacky Pack toys . . .

Sonic Drive-In strives to provide educational toys that encourage interaction between parent and child. July's toy was the atomic straw! This month they will have the Smart-a-gon and in September Sonic will have hero force collectibles to honor police officers, firefighters, and more!

Now a little about Sonic Drive-In's set up . . .

Sonic Drive-In is unique because you can eat in the comfort of your car. There is no need to get out in the rain or other bad weather. Or maybe you are tired of chasing your children all over restaurants while you are trying to eat. At Sonic you can keep them in the car just through on the child safety locks and order your food (now you just have to deal with the fussing!)

Maybe it is a nice day and you would like to enjoy the sunshine. Well Sonic Drive-In will still work for you! Sonic has an outside eating area where you can enjoy the sunshine while eating your meal.

It is important to note that Sonic is not an eat in restaurant. At least not where we live and I do not believe I have ever seen an eat in section at any Sonic location I have been too.

Our Opinion of Sonic Drive-In . . .

Yummy! What more can I say. Now I have to admit I didn't go for the healthy menu instead I chose a bacon, egg, and cheese toaster and tater tots with chili and cheese! Oh did I forget to mention Sonic Drive-In serves breakfast ALL DAY! All day breakfast is a definite plus to me. Sometimes I get a late start and just want a breakfast sandwich knowing that no matter what time I get into town I can still get me a bacon, egg, and cheese toaster makes me really happy!

I enjoy the ease of ordering from the car and never having to leave the comfort of my air-conditioning. Their car hops even come around and offer condiments shortly after your order is brought to you!

For those of you not looking for the healthy meal options you MUST try the fritos chili cheese wrap and the tater tots with chili and cheese! Now I am really hungry.

Brea enjoys eating at Sonic Drive-In too. I think her favorite part is the Cherry Limeades. I do have to admit they are pretty good. She also enjoyed the atomic straw we received the other day. She actually carried it around Busch Gardens with her!

Return to Aloha Friday?

I love participating in Aloha Friday. All you need to do is ask a simple question for others to answer and link up to An Island Life using Mister Linky. Of course there will be many other blogs linked up at Aloha Friday for you to visit.
It is a great way to get to know each other and get some new visitors to your blog! Hope to see you there.

This weeks question . . .
What is your child's favorite amusement park ride? No children well tell me yours!

My answer . . .
We had a fun trip to Wiliamsburg Busch Gardens yesterday and I think that Brea's favorite ride was the Log Flume. I am actually kind of surprised they okay that for children as small as her. At the top before the drop their safety recording says to hold on tight and brace yourself for the abrupt slow down at the bottom. All I could think was how am I supposed brace us and hold on tight to Brea. We made it though and had lots of fun doing it!

Spending some time with Brea!

Woohoo! My 8 day vacation from work has started and I have a special surprise for Brea tomorrow. In the morning we are off to the beach for the day then we are headed to Williamsburg for the night. In the morning we are going to hit Busch Gardens where Brea will get to meet Elmo and other Sesame Street characters! I know she is going to have a great time.

So I am a little behind, but I will be computer free until we return on Thursday! So I hope everyone has a great couple of days and I will get back to work Thursday night when we get home. Well maybe Friday morning it just depends on how tired I am. I have quite a few reviews and giveaways coming up over the weekend and next week so be sure to come back.

Since I do comment moderation I will update the comments as soon as I get home!

See Kai Run Review and Giveaway! (US and Canada)

Finding stylish shoes for your children that are comfortable and designed for a child's foot can be very difficult. I have gotten Brea many shoes that fall off every time you turn around or worse yet I find a blister on her foot after a day of play. I had almost given up hope of finding the right shoes for Brea, but then I came across See Kai Run!

See Kai Run shoes are a result of Kai's mommy who just wanted a pair of comfortable, flexible, hip shoes for her son. With a mother's love and her desire to provide the best for her son See Kai Run shoes were created! The soles of these shoes are made from extremely flexible rubber. The actual shoes are made of breathable leather and have "padded collars" (woohoo no blisters!).

See Kai Run offers three different brand names. "See Kai Run" fits children 6 months to 3 years. The "Smaller" line that fits 0-18 months. Lastly the "Eleven" line that fits 3-8 year olds.

All of their brands have a wide variety of appealing styles. There is something for everyone so head on over to See Kai Run now and take a look for yourself!

Our Opinion of See Kai Run . . .

Brea and I had the opportunity to review the Jennae shoes. I was pretty skeptical when I first received them. As I said I have tried so many different types of shoes!

Much to my surprise when I pulled the shoes out of the box I could immediately tell a difference. The soles were extremely flexible. I could actually fold the shoe in half! The material of the Jennae shoe was very soft both inside and out. The velcro closure had a cute pink flower on the side and at the toe there is a half moon cut out. Both of those features added just the right amount of class to make the shoes dressy without over doing it!

Then came time for Brea to try the shoes on much to my dismay they were way too big. I thought there was no way that I was going to be able to review them properly. Just to see what happened I went ahead and fastened the velcro to see how much give they had. Surprisingly even though they were too big they were still snug on her feet. Brea has been wearing them for more than a week with no problems! Bye Bye Blisters! The best thing is that she gets to grow into them also!

As I said Brea has been wearing the Jennae shoes for more than a week now and they are holding up great. She has played both indoors and outdoors. Just like all toddlers she has already taken a couple tumbles with the Jennaes on, but they still lock brand new! Not a scratch and easily wiped clean!

I would definitely recommend See Kai Run to my friends and family and I will be checking out their dress shoes on a regular basis now! So head on over and check them out for yourselves I promise you will not be disappointed!

Train-Ease Review and Giveaway!

As most of you know Brea and I have been working on potty training! So far she only shows a little bit of interest, but that is okay we will keep trying! I have been looking for different types of training pants. I tried the cotton training pants with the plastic cover, but that is just too much work for me! I was beginning to think that their were no training pants out there for us, but then I came across Train-Ease training pants!

Train-ease training pants come in three designs, white, circus, and hearts! Train-ease training pants have a waterproof polyurethane layer that prevents wetness from immediately soaking through. So there is no need for the plastic covers!
They are safe to machine wash and dry, making them even more convenient!

Our Opinion of Train-Ease training pants . . .

Brea seems to like her "unnerware" and thought that the heart design was "cute." Since she likes the design she is quite easily convinced to wear these when we are at home! I have also noticed that when she wears these she is more likely to complain about being wet!

As for me when I first saw the Train-Ease training pants I did not think they were actually going to be waterproof. They look and feel like they are made out of cloth. I was pleasantly surprised when Brea had her first accident and I was able to get her changed before it leaked all over everything! I also love that they are safe for the washing machine and dryer! This makes my life easier and at the same time I know that I am helping the environment.

Best of all Train-Ease makes Brea feel like a big girl and keeps my furniture and carpet pee-free!

Buy your own Train-Ease training pants at Baby's Organic Nursery!

Lavender Lab from Cloud B Review!

While visiting Cloud B, I came across the Lavender Lab. Lavender is naturally calming and the scent is often used as a sleep aid. Before having Brea I used to spray my pillow with lavender spray to help me sleep. As most of you know I co-sleep so lavender spray is not really an option at the moment. I think it may be a little strong for Brea. So when I saw the Lavender Lab I knew that this could be truly beneficial and when I came across the opportunity to do a review for Brea's Mommy I jumped on it!

The Lavender Lab has packets of Lavender and other aromatherapy products inside. To release the scents all you need to do is squeeze the Lavender Lab's head and back. After releasing the scents just lay the Lavender Lab on your child's pillow until it is time for sleep. Then remove the Lavender Lab when your child is ready to sleep.

The calming effects of the aromatherapy packets will help your child fall asleep and sleep throughout the night. The scent lasts up to 5 years!

Our opinion of the Lavender Lab . . .

Brea loves dogs so every night when she sees the Lavender Lab on her pillow she says "doggy." I usually let her pet the "doggy" before we remove him off of the bed. Surprisingly she does not seem to get upset when I remove the dog from the bed. I actually thought this maybe an issue.

I think the Lavender Lab is great. I have noticed that Brea does appear to sleep better on nights that the Lavender Lab had been on her pillow. Brea has always been a very restless sleeper and she flops all over the bed during the night. Since using the Lavender Lab I have also noticed a decrease in her flopping, which also means I sleep better!

I think the only thing left is buying a Lavender Lab for my pillow. I think I am getting a little jealous.

Do you want your own Lavender Lab to help your sleeping angel? If so head on over to Cloud B and while you are there check out all of the other great sleep related products for kids!
