Jumpstart Pet Rescue for Wii Review!

Box Cover

I do not yet own a Nintendo Wii, but will be getting one for Christmas this year! I know the surprise aspect is gone, but that is okay I get a Wii.

With that said most of my friends already have the Nintendo Wii System and I have heard them complain about the lack of educational games available for young children. So when the opportunity arose for me to review the new Jumpstart game for Wii I really wanted to participate. With that in mind I called a couple of friends and they agreed to let me use their Wii to review Jumpstart Pet Rescue.

Jumpstart Pet Rescue has been has been rated "Early Childhood" by the ERSP the "Entertainment Software Rating Board." Jumpstart Pet Rescue includes 5 "discovery worlds" that our children can explore while trying to find the missing pets. During their exploration they will be able to play over "70 learning lesson activities" and learn over "75 essential skills."

Our opinion of Jumpstart Pet Rescue . . .

I think that Jumpstart Pet Rescue is a great game for young children! There are many different activities that will keep children coming back for more. Pet Rescue has great animation and truly focuses on teaching our children!

Seth (7 years old) - Seth really enjoyed making the puppy do tricks and driving the submarine. He also seemed to really enjoy playing on the water slide and interacting with the animals. Some of the games were a little easy for him, but he still found a few that held his interest. I must say that he wanted to keep playing when it was his brothers turn!

Dennis (4 year old) - Dennis really enjoyed playing Pet Rescue. I think that the games were perfect for him and he had a lot of fun with them. He also enjoyed the water slide and the submarine. He played a lot of games that focused on learning colors and following directions. He also wanted to keep playing when it was time to go. He actually wanted us to leave the game there!

Brea (23 months old) - While Brea did not play the game and has actually never played a video game to date she still appeared quite interested. Pet Rescue has movies that teach ABCs, counting, and colors with songs and dancing. Brea loves music so she was hooked. She also seemed to be interested in the different animals on the screen and would yell out their name when she saw them.

I cannot wait until Christmas when Brea and I will be able to explore Pet Rescue even more. I think that this will be a wonderful learning opportunity for her and I to use together!

I did receive a copy of Jumpstart Pet Rescue for review purposes. This did not impact my review in any way and no other compensation was received.
