Baby Signs Review and Giveaway!

Baby Signs Potty Training Kit has lots of great learning tools . . .

1. "Potty Training Made Easy with the Baby Signs Program" book walks you through all of the steps on how to use the Baby Signs Potty Kit. It also gives hints and tips to use along the way! In the back of the book you will also find a sign glossary to make sure you know signs that may be associated with potty training so that you can teach your toddler as you go!

2. "All Aboard the Potty Train" DVD - This DVD incorporates fun music, dancing trains, doodle diapers, and real kids to teach young children about using the potty and about the signs associated with using the potty. You will notice that lots of repetition is used during the movie. Repetition is a great teaching tool especially for when it comes to small children and sign. You will also notice that bright colors are used throughout the movie to capture your child's attention.

3. All Aboard the Potty Train Lift-the-Book - This book is a short story that stress specific potty training words on a page and then the opposite page shows the corresponding sign for the word! It is a great way to do hands on learning while reading a book to your child.

4. Job Well Done Stickers - Stickers to use as reinforcers for when your child goes potty!

5. All Aboard the Potty Train Conductor's Whistle - This is a great wooden whistle that parents can blow to let their child know that it is potty time! You may also choose to use it to signal a successful potty time or maybe you choose to do both!

Our thoughts on the Baby Signs Potty Training Kit . . .

All in all I really enjoyed using the Baby Signs Potty Training Kit with Brea. We especially had fun using the conductors whistle. I also really enjoyed learning some of the baby signs with my daughter. I will actually be taking ASL in the fall so at least I have potty signs under my belt (wonder if they will come in handy for class).

Brea seemed to enjoy the dvd and even danced around to it a bit. She just recently got into the sticker phase so the stickers were a huge plus to her. She walks around saying sticker all the time when she has one on her shirt (so cute!). Of course she also gets a kick out of me blowing the whistle although she can not really figure out how to do it herself!

Toilet Time Targets Review and Giveaway for Potty Time Party!

Everyone has heard the concept that giving little boys something to "aim" at in the potty will help you potty train. Well Toilet Time Targets is a product that will help you with that. Toilet Time Targets are pieces of colored tissue paper cut into 5 different shapes.

Some comments from the Toilet Time Targets!
Toilet Time Targets are flushable and septic system friendly
Made in the USA!
Manufactured " with 75% recycled biodegradable tissue paper"
"Urine doesn't splash back off the top of the targets and onto the floor or onto your youngster. In fact, when hit, these targets fold in half and sink to the bottom. "

Our Opinion of Toilet Time Targets . . .

I think Toilet Time Targets would be a great addition to potty training for a boy. We were sent Toilet Time Targets for girls and boys. We tried the targets for girls, which are apparently cut bigger, but Brea just pulled them out and played with them. I am not sure how to use these with a little girl, but I do think that the larger cutouts would be great for younger boys that are being potty trained. After all they would be easier to hit for a tiny tot!

Buy these at Toilet Time Targets

Giveaway Opportunity!

Five lucky readers will receive 2 boxes of Toilet Time Targets (100 count each) 3 winners will receive the boy boxes and 2 winners will receive the girl boxes! If you have a preference please let me know and remember the main difference is the size of the cutouts!

Primo Folding Potty Review for the Potty Time Party!

Primo's Folding Potty Seat with handles is great for those times when you don't want to carry anything but a diaper bag. Primo's Folding Potty Seat is small enough to place in a large zip lock bag and right into the diaper bag or even your purse!

Primo's Folding Potty Seat was designed to use on-the-go! You can use it on any toilet seat. The handles are intended to keep your child's hands off of the toilet and on the clean potty seat! The potty seat can even be applied without the adult ever needing to put their hands on the potty seat either!

A couple of imporant comments from the Primo website . . .
"strong enough to support a child up to 40 pounds on a round or elongated toilet"
"BPA Free, Phthalate Free, Lead Free"
"Made in USA"

Our thoughts on Primo Folding Potty Seat . . .

The first time I tried to use the Primo Folding Potty Seat I kept putting it on wrong. I was really worried because it kept bending under Brea's weight and I thought there is no way this will hold a 40 pound child. REMEMBER I was putting it on WRONG!

If you place the Primo Folding Potty Seat at the front of the toilet (there will be lip that comes over the front of the toilet just a bit) it works great! The Primo Folding Potty Seat held Brea with no problem and there was virtually no give or bending. I love that it folds up and is small enough to place in a zip-lock bag and then into my pocketbook! This will definitely be taking a few trips with us this summer. I think it would be great to use at friend's houses, amusement parks, and other public places where all you want to carry is your purse or diaper bag! Now I just have to buy a small bottle of Lysol to take along too!

Brea did fine with the Primo Folding Potty Seat once I figured out the proper placement! She did not appear uncomfortable at all sitting on it. She did use the handles to steady herself and so far has not felt the need to touch the toilet.

You can buy your own Primo Folding Potty Seat at Amazon

Toilet Buddies Review and Giveaway!

When exploring the internet for new and exciting new potty training products for the Potty Time Party I came across Toilet Buddies! Toilet Buddies work by getting your child interested in the toilet. The designs are placed on the toilet by velcro so they are removable and can be used as a reinforcer. Each time your child uses the potty you can add a piece to the toilet until you have the whole animal design.

Toilet Buddies are intended to reduce toilet anxiety in young children. They recommend that you start using toilet buddies when your child is 18-19 months old. Toilet Buddies hopes to add fun and humor to potty training.

Toilet Buddies have two face cutouts. One for the back of the toilet and the other for inside the lid. The animal cutout for the lid has his eyes closed to provide privacy to the child while she potties! They have multiple awards and have been featured on Dr. Phil!

Our Opinion of Toilet Buddies . . .

Toilet Buddies are simple to apply. Set up only takes a few minutes. Since they are applied with velcro they are easy to remove if you are having company coming over. I personally think my "Gatago Giraffe" will be a great conversation starter for my company, but others may not feel the same way. You can wipe them clean with ease so no need to worry about that!

The first time Brea saw "Gatago Giraffe" she said "cool." She has asked to go to the potty more often then she did prior the toilet buddies and usually runs to the bathroom with "Gatago Giraffe". Usually we use the opposite bathroom so that is significant. Before Toilet Buddies she would cry everytime I would set her on the "big potty," but since applying "Gatago Giraffe" it hasn't seemed to upset her. So I would have to say that Brea really likes her "Gatago Giraffe"

Toilet Buddies have multiple different animal designs and I am sure that there is something for everyone!

Giveaway Opportunity!

Five lucky readers will receive their very own Toilet Buddy! I have 2 "Puddles Puppy," 1 " Gotago Giraffe," 1 "Ca Ca Cow," and 1 "Poo P. Bunny" to send out!"

Potty Breakthrough!

Since we are celebrating our Potty Time Party I thought I would like to share Brea's two successes this week! On two occasions Brea pee pee'd in the potty. I made a big deal out of it both times of course. You should have seen me dancing around the bathroom singing Brea pee pee'd in the potty over and over. Brea got a kick out of it though.

Brea is now asking to go to the potty on a regular basis sometimes she doesn't ask until she has already gone. We are working on that now, but I think for the most part she is doing pretty well.

Almost everything that we have been doing the last couple of weeks has been potty related. From the movies we watch to the books we read. I hope that it is starting to pay off.

So if you or someone you know are beginning to start the potty adventure be sure to check out my potty time party posts. I have some great giveaways going on and more to come.

Due to it being the Fourth of July my scheduled review/giveaway post may be delayed until tomorrow. If so there will be two posted tomorrow so stop on by and check them out!

Seventh Generation review for the Potty Time Party!

Now we know that along with potty training we know there are lots of accidents. So I was also looking for eco-friendly products to assist with this part of potty training. When I came across Seventh Generation I just had to try it! They have everything you need for potty training from disposable training pants to all purpose cleaner.

Seventh Generation is a company that provides safe, non-toxic, and environmentally friendly household cleaners, baby care items, paper supplies (toilet paper, papertowels), and even feminine care items! As mom to a toddler I realize that I need to start thinking more about the products I use and the effect they have on the environment. While these effects may not take place during my time on Earth they very well may effect my child's future. ( Denial is so much easier before children since of course they may very well take place during my lifetime!)

They offer. . .
Chlorine free baby products
Plant and vegetable based laundry detergents
Chlorine free bleach
Non-toxic, biodegradable, hypoallergenic household cleaners
Recycled paper products
Recycled trash bag
Chlorine free feminine wipes
Non-toxic dishwashing products

My opinion of Seventh Generation . . .

I was lucky enough to receive Seventh Generation chlorine free training pants, chlorine free wipes, baby laundry liquid detergent, and the natural all purpose cleaner for review purposes!

The Seventh Generation Chlorine Free Training Pants were 3T-4T so I am unable to provide an accurate review of these at this time.

The Seventh Generation Chlorine Free Wipes were wonderful. They were soft and gentle on Brea's bottom and appeared to cause less distress when Brea had a diaper rash than other wipes that I have used in the past.

The Seventh Generation Baby Laundry Liquid Detergent greatly exceeded my expectations. I have been swimming with Brea on a daily basis due to swim classes and I had bathing suits and towels still in the tote bag from a couple of days ago. I know that is not a good thing! They had started to get that mildew, musty smell. Usually I would have washed them twice before drying to make sure that the smell was gone, but I figured this was a perfect way to test the Baby Laundry Liquid Detergent. So they went through the washer once and then straight to the dryer. I did not have high hopes for this one as nothing has taken that smell out with just one wash. I am happy to report that it worked and when I removed my swimsuits and towels from the dryer they smelled nice and fresh!

The Seventh Generation Natural All Purpose Cleaner was another product that I originally had my doubts about. After all how well can something that is safe for our environment and Non-toxic actually clean. I tested this out on Brea's High Chair first and it removed all the yucky food with just a wipe. Now when I go to grab a cleaner to wipe down the counters or tables the Natural All Purpose Cleaner is my first pick! The fact that it isn't poisonous and helps save our environment makes it all the more better!

All in all, Seventh Generation is a product I can feel good about using. I would definitely recommend this to other people who are interested in helping save our environment and preserving the Earth for our children and theirs!

Potty Topper Review and giveaway for the potty time party!

Thanks for joining the party!

Today I have another fantastic potty review to share with you! I am sure most of you have heard of the tabletopper by neat solutions, but did you also know that they have a potty topper. These potty toppers prevent your little ones from picking up germs off the toilet seat. They have 2 small strips of adhesive that prevent the potty topper from moving while your child is sitting on it. They are also oversized which help keep little hands off of the sides of the toilets. And to prevent that wetness from soaking threw thanks to the person who went before you the potty topper has a plastic liner! Don't worry it is "BPA-Free, PVC-Free, phthalate-Free"

My opinion on the potty topper . . .

Well to be honest I had no idea how this was going to work. 1. My toddler does not exactly sit on a toilet seat by herself and would definitely fall in. 2. A plastic liner sounds really uncomfortable. I still wanted to give it a shot because if I was wrong I didn't want to miss out.

Well I am glad I did! It is true that Brea is not big enough to sit on an adult potty by herself, but it was pretty easy to hold her on it while she tried to go. Recently I have also noticed that many family bathrooms have a smaller potty for toddlers in them in addition to an adult potty. The Potty Topper would work well on these too.

The adhesive strips kept the potty topper in place while Brea tried to go and it was easy to remove when we were done!

For those of you who have older children the size of the potty topper will keep hands away from the toilet. They will be able to hold themselves onto the potty with the potty topper still under their hands!

Lastly I also think it is perfect for me! I have went in many bathrooms that I was scared to sit on the potty. Thanks to the potty topper I can use these pottys with confidence that I am also being protected!

My recommendation is pick up some potty toppers and keep them close you never know when you will need them for your child or even for yourself! They do the job keeping your bottom dry and away from potty germs!
