Momspit Review!

How often have you been in a situation where you just have to get that smudge off your child's face and you have no water to use so out comes the mom spit? Everyone does it at some point or another. After all it is human nature to keep our children clean. My grandmother told me she had not used her spit on Brea instead she stuck her finger in Brea's mouth then wiped her face! Can you say ewwww without even thinking about it she had just stuck every germ on her finger into poor Brea's mouth!

Thanks to Momspit this is no longer a problem! Momspit is made to use in the same way that you would use your own spit. Just put a little on your finger or apply directly to the area to be cleaned and rub it in. The dirt will be gone! At first I was very skeptical of Momspit, but it worked fantastically. Momspit leaves your child's skin feeling soft. It does not dry out skin and does not contain any alcohol!

Momspit comes in 2oz and 7oz containers! The 2 oz containers are perfect for your pocketbook and is a must have for all parents and caregivers! It is available in unscented, fig & green tea, and lemon & white tea!

Head on over to Amazon to pick up your own MomSpit No-Rinse Cleanser for Hands and Face SpitKit Assorted 1 Fig, 1 Lemon & 1 Unscented (3-2oz)

(I did receive a momspit for review purposes. No other compensation received. This review is based on my opinion of the product reviewed and was in no way influenced by the said company )

Cool Gear Bottles Review and Giveaway!

In addition to the Cool Gear Travel Potty that I reviewed last week, I also had the opportunity to review 2 of Cool Gears bottles. I am always looking for stylish water bottles to carry and Cool Gear has lots too choose from! Cool Gear offers many products with an EZ Freeze Insert which is a tube that has non toxic freezer gel inside. Freeze the EZ Freeze attach it too the lid and it will keep your drink cold longer without watering it down! I love the simplicity of this idea and the best thing is it works!

A couple of Quotes from Cool Gear . . .

1. " Our entire line is BPA and Phthalates free"
2. "As a company, we are PVC free, which includes our packaging"
3. "100% customer satisfaction policy"

Our Opinion of Cool Gear . . .

I received the EZ-Freeze® 28oz Traveller to review. This is a really cute and stylish water bottle that has stainless steel top and base. The EZ-Freeze works wonderfully. I have always hated taking tea to work as it was always watered down by the time I got there. Now thanks to Cool Gear this is no longer a problem!

Brea received the 12oz Cool Zooey™ Flip Top in the Green Frog design. She loves it and calls it "frog." The animal designs are great for kids. We really enjoy the EZ-Freeze Insert works great with her Motts For Tots. The juice is already watered down and we don't want it too lose all of its flavor. The Flip Top works wonderfully for toddlers since you can close the top when not in use and help reduce the chance of spills!

Sometimes in the midst of tragedy there is a miracle to be found!

Today as I was getting ready to check out my email a news headline jumped out at me "5 year old survives jet crash." Of course I had to take to the time to read this story and while it was heartbreaking it also included a miracle.

A plane carrying 153 people crashed into the Indian Ocean. Apparently either a 5 year old boy or a 14 year old girl was found alive within the wreckage. At the time of the article no other survivors had been reported.

I ask that all of my readers take a moment and pray for the people who were on the plane and for their families. I hope that they found both the 5 year old and the 14 year old and will be praying to that effect. Also pray that more survivors will be found during the search and resque mission!

Great opportunity from Dapper Snappers!

Dapper snappers are a nifty little products that keep Brea's pants from falling around her ankles! Brea is 90th percentile for heighth and 25th percentile for weight. As you can imagine there are a lot of times she is in between sizes. Dapper snapper has fixed that and now her clothes can fit comfortably and not be too short!

You can read my previous review of Dapper Snappers here.

In Celebration of Toddlertech USA turning 1 Chelle is having a buy 2 get 1 FREE special. Just visit this page to obtain your code.

Safe Sippy 2 Review and Giveaway!

I was really excited to hear that safe sippy is now introducing the Safe Sippy 2 to the world! The safe sippy 2 has all of the great features as the safe sippy, but also includes a travel plug, a travel cap, and even a straw adapter! I think this is a great idea. Now when Brea finally masters the straw I already have everything I need to convert this from a sippy to a "big" girl cup!

The safe sippy was designed with our children's health in mind!

There is very little plastic that comes in contact with the water or juice. The straw is made of plastic, but is BPA, phthalates, and DEHA free! Their reasoning for using a plastic straw is that no one wants to "suck on a stainless steel straw." I have to say they got me on that one. It would probably be extremely uncomfortable.

The Safe Sippy 2 also has removable easy grip handles and a "tapered waist" both of which keep little hands in mind. Speaking of hands lets not forget the thermoplastic rubber sleeve placed over most of the safe sippy. As we all know stainless steel gets cold and it would be extremely uncomfortable to hold onto a stainless steel cup with ice cold liquid inside! The thermoplastic shield prevents the outside of the sippy from getting too cold for our children's hand.

My opinion . . .
For review purposes I used the safe sippy as a sippy cup and it worked wonderfully. This is the first time I have used any stainless steel cup and was surprised to find that I loved it. It is super easy to clean and dishwasher safe (big plus for me I hate hand washing dishes!)

I also love the fact that there is very little plastic coming in contact with any liquids in the cup. With all the scary things I have heard about plastic less means better!

I was interested in why the Safe Sippy 2 has a straw shaped spout instead of the usual sippy cup spouts. I was surprised to find that the wider spouts may cause speech problems and other physical problems associated with the mouth. So the straw shaped spout is another definite plus.

The only problem I noticed was that when I turned the cup upside down is did have a very slow drip. Not really a problem in my house as Brea is usually pretty good with keeping the cup upright. To be honest I don't believe we have ever had a sippy cup that did not drip at all and most drip quite a bit for that matter!

All in all I would have to say that the benefits of the Safe Sippy 2 are excellent and I would definitely recommend this to other moms!

Buy it the Safe Sippy 2 - GREEN at Amazon now for $12.95!

"Here We Go" CD review

I was lucky enough to review the "Here We Go" CD thanks to Erin over at Here We Go Productions!

I loved the "Here We Go" CD it made me want to get up and dance! Actually that is just what I did. I danced around the living room with Brea on my hip and then Brea and I both danced around the living room. I am hoping this will be a great way to get my workout in daily. Dancing with Brea sounds more like fun, but who says a workout can't be fun. I also think that this will be great to listen to while I clean the house and possibly keep Brea occupied for a bit. Who could ask for more!

The lyrics are kid appropriate while the music is geared towards both children and adults. This is not one of those CDs we want to throw out the window after it plays for the third time! I am actually considering taking this with us on vacation this summer and even if I have to listen to it the entire time, I think I will be able to handle it!

I hope that you will take the time to visit Here We Go Productions! They have their lyrics posted and song clips for you to listen to so you can see if this CD is right for you! If it is you can also buy a copy of their CD for $12 or you can buy the songs at Itunes.

Thanks for checking out this awesome new company. I hope you like what you see!

What about the children?

I agree with the many posts out there regarding the outrage that Nadya Suleman was allowed to continue receiving IVF treatments after having 6 children and being unable to financially provide for them. This is a woman who was still living with her mother, currently on food stamps, and she was unemployed and she already had 6 children!

Personally I think that people are focusing on the woman far too much when we really need to focus on these 14 children. Sadly these children are going to be the ones who suffer. What can we do to make the childrens lives better? One of the first things I would like to see happen is a psychiatric evaluation for mom. Is mom truly up for the job? If not (which I'm sure is the case) what happens to the children? Can the government find homes for these children where they can receive the love and support that all children deserve? I hope so.

I hope that people remember that their is much more to raising a child then providing shelter, clothing, and other material neccessities. Children need love and attention! How can a single mother of 14 children possibly provide all of this to each child!

Happy Mommy's Day!

Wow, my first mother's day. My life has changed so much in the last 8 months I can't even believe it. Before having Brea everything I did had to do with me. Me, Me, Me and to heck with anyone else. It was nothing for me to party on all my days off. Thank goodness that I'm a mommy now. Now I go to work and go straight home to spend time with Brea. On my day's off I spend the majority of the time with her and picking up the house. Once in awhile I go out with some friends for dinner and a drink or two. Those days of drinking with wild abandon are gone and surprisingly do you know how much I miss them? Not at all. I would much rather go enjoy myself and be able to come home and take care of my child the way she deserves. I'm fortunate that spending most of my time with Brea is my choice and I know that when I choose to go out I can easily find a sitter. I never feel tied down I just enjoy spending time with my daughter. I thank God everyday for blessing me with my beautiful daughter and showing me a better way to live my life.
Happy mother's day to all you mothers out there.
